Truth and Actuality brings together talks and dialogues by J. Krishnamurti on truth, reality, thought, and conditioned consciousness.

The book opens with three discussions drawn from a longer series with theoretical physicist David Bohm. They examine truth, the actuality perceived by the senses, reality as it appears to consciousness, and the relationships between them.

In the main part of the book, Krishnamurti explores misconceptions about the “me,” or ego centre, and the conditioning of consciousness.

“You cannot go through reality to come to truth; you must understand the limitation of reality, which is the whole process of thought,” he says.

The book concludes with questions and answers that further explore issues raised in the talks and discussions.
